Titanic discovery marks 40-year anniversary
September 1st, 2025 marks the 40th anniversary of the day famed ocean explorer Dr. Robert Ballard found Titanic. Ballard has worked on over 150 shipwreck expeditions and has been instrumental in bringing the deep sea to light for the public through live streaming "tele-presence", originally through his JASON project. His flagship vessel, E/V Nautilus, has continued that visionary ocean exploration work for decades. Ballard is also recognized for his pioneering contributions to the design and deployment of deep-sea submersibles and Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs).
